Auction Rules
Please note the following rules associated with this auction:
Auction Rules:
1. Bidders can only create 1 account to participate in the auction. Required account information includes name, email address, DePaul ID number (or last six numbers of a driver’s license for users without DePaul IDs) and a telephone number. It is a violation of law to submit bids using a false name or any other fraudulent information, and such orders may not be processed, even if we initially accept such a bid. Submission of such orders can result in substantial legal and/or criminal risk to those individuals involved. Be aware that even if a falsified name is given, the web browser transmits a unique Internet address which can be used by law enforcement officials for identification purposes.
2. All bids constitute a legally binding contract to purchase the items should the bidder have the highest bid at auction close. Winning bidders may have their purchases forfeited if they do not make pickup/payment arrangements within 10 calendar days of auction close. A bidder who has forfeited their purchase may be banned from future auctions and have their account reinstated only at the discretion of Procurement Services, which may impose a reinstatement fee.
3. All items are sold in "as is" condition. Buyer assumes all liability for any purchased items and no refunds will be given. DePaul University makes no warranty, expressed or implied, as to the completeness, kind, character, or quality of any of the property, or its fitness for any use or purpose.
4. Procurement Services reserves the right to cancel any bid for any reason.
5. All bids must be entered before auction close or they will not be accepted. View the schedule page for closing information.
6. If a current winning bid is disqualified in an auction, Procurement Services reserves the right to restore a prior non-winning bid to winning status at the most recent bid price.
7. The Purchaser agrees that DePaul University shall not be liable for personal injuries to the Purchaser, the Purchaser’s employees, or to any other person arising from or incident to the purchase of this item, its use, or disposition. The Purchaser shall hold DePaul University harmless from any or all debts, liabilities, judgments, costs, demands, suits, actions, or claims of any nature arising from or incident to the resale of this item.
Viewing Days:
1. DePaul may offer pre-scheduled viewing day(s) allowing bidders to view auction items. These date(s) are the only times available to view items. Please visit the schedule page for more information.
2. Any viewing that takes place during business hours is considered personal time.
Pickup and Payment Rules:
1. All winning bids must be picked up by the winning bidder at the established time listed on the schedule page. Successful Bidders will have ten calendar days from auction close to pay for all property in full.
2. Online methods are the preferred method of payment. Prior to pickup, payment may be made via credit card or PayPal. At the pickup location, payment may be made by cash, certified check or money order only. Personal checks will not be accepted under any circumstances.
3. The Purchaser assumes all pickup responsibilities for their item(s). Procurement Services cannot assist with moving items or providing carts. If necessary bring your own carts or additional people for assistance.
4. Pickups made during business hours are considered personal time.
